Solar Photovoltaics
In very simple terms, solar photovoltaic (PV) panels capture sunlight and convert it into electricity. The direct current produced by the panels is converted into alternating current using an inverter, which then feeds the electricity back to the consumer unit, where it can either be used in the home or is exported back to the grid.
Solar Thermal
Solar thermal systems use the sun’s energy to heat water which is stored in a hot water cylinder for later use. They are a simple and affordable solution and are suitable for both new build and retro-fit applications. Solar thermal systems can provide an average of up to 60% of the annual hot water demand in the home.
Heat Pumps
Heat pumps work in a similar manner to refrigerators, except they provide heating rather than cooling. In the case of a domestic fridge or freezer, heat is taken from the fridge/freezer compartment using an evaporator and is transferred to a condenser at the rear of the refrigerator, and the heat is dissipated into the kitchen.
Energy Efficiency Makeover
We can offer ‘energy efficiency makeovers’ to homeowners, from fitting thermostatic radiator valves to a full refurbishment to ensure your home is warm, comfortable and energy efficient. We can use thermal imaging cameras to find out where heat is being lost, and then make improvements to reduce or eliminate these weak points.
